Meet the Therapists

Brooke Morgan, M.Ed., LPC-MHSP, NCC

Brooke is passionate about creating a safe space for clients to explore their inner truths and likes fostering a therapeutic relationship that supports and challenges clients to become their best selves. She is passionate about working with clients in the young adult (16+) and adult chapters of their lives, who may be struggling with eating and body image, substance use, anxiety, and other life struggles. Brooke believes that full recovery is possible at any point in life.

Brooke believes connection and attachment play an important role in coping with everyday stressors. As a result, she works from an attachment perspective when providing therapy.

Brooke is a licensed professional counselor and mental health services provider (LPC-MHSP, LPCC) in Tennessee (license #5615) and Kentucky (license #287923). She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Transylvania University in Kentucky. She then completed her master’s degree in Human Development Counseling at Vanderbilt University. She completed her practicum at The Ranch, working specifically with clients struggling with eating disorders, then continued to work in eating disorder treatment at The Renfrew Center as an intern therapist. She has gained experience with various levels of care (residential, PHP, and IOP) while working at a treatment center serving clients struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety.

Brooke values working with clients in an empathetic, encouraging, and motivating way. Her therapeutic style could be described as directive and relational. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family (including her two giant dogs), reading, journaling, and traveling.

Mary Ellen Alexander, Pre-licensed Therapist

Mary Ellen has spent seasons of her life in therapy (and still does) as she’s experienced therapy to be one of the greatest game-changers in her life. Her core values as a therapist include making every client feel welcome, safe, seen, understood, and valued. Her desire is for clients to step into her office and feel like it’s right where they’re supposed to be. The therapeutic alliance (her relationship with clients) is extremely important to her as she has witnessed it being one of the biggest agents of change in therapy. Mary Ellen comes into the practice with a person-centered approach while implementing several different modalities of therapy. Attachment theory is something she relies heavily upon especially when working with families.

Before coming into the field of mental health counseling, Mary Ellen spent 7 years working as a nutritionist at a residential treatment center. There, she worked alongside women with eating disorders, helping them heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She wanted to go deeper with each of her clients, so she decided to go back to school and get her Master’s in mental health counseling. Mary Ellen completed her practicum and internship with a private practice specializing in eating disorders. She feels passionately about helping anyone struggling with an eating disorder, families impacted by eating disorders, loss of identity, heartbreak, grief, loss of direction in life & beyond.

Mary Ellen holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Belmont University. When she is not in the therapy room you can find her on the tennis court, creating with color through paint, arranging flowers, on her back porch with friends, and trying new restaurants in Nashville!
